The uniquely built Viewpoint cottages in Chalok baan Kao, in the south of the island Koh Tao, offer an undisturbed view over the Gulf of Thailand. The cottages have been built, using local wood and nature stone and combined them to a beautiful and unique tropical style. The Bhora Bhora resort is built on the hillside right across the street from Big Bubble. The wooden style bungalows are nicely arranged in a colorful tropical garden area providing a beautiful view over the bay of Chalok Ban Kao. All bungalows at Bhora Bhora Resort are provided with bathrooms including shower and toilet and some also have hot water, in case you arrive in the rainy season on Koh Tao. You can as well choose between air-con or fan. All rooms have mosquito nets available.

The resort’s own restaurant serves a wide selection of delicious western and Thai food. Next door to the restaurant, you will find “Rasta Bar”. Enjoy the soft tunes of reggae music, have a relaxed drink in the evening, meet new friends and chat about your latest scuba diving adventures. Taraporn Bungalows

Taraporn, on the west of Chalok Ban Kao, is a largely quiet spot with a private stretch of sandy beach with palm trees surrounded by boulders. The Babaloo Beach Bar is close by with a chilled and relaxed atmosphere. Taraporn’s bungalows are nothing fancy but they are clean, spacious and in a very nice location. Surrounded by several smaller beaches and away from traffic and noise Taraporn Bungalows offer the perfect place to relax and enjoy your scuba diving vacation.

Plain wooden huts on stilts line the rocks at the top of the beach and feature covered decks with hammocks. Plenty of tree cover around the huts provides a retreat from the sun after a day of excellent dives with Big Bubble or simply after a lovely afternoon on the beach. A boardwalk leads guests from the bungalows to the friendly Taraporn bar and restaurant and then further into the centre of Chalok baan Kao, a short distance away. Several shops and 24/7 shopping as well as ATM machines are in walking distance.

Sunset Bungalow Resort has its own beach! The resort is about 10-15 minutes walk away from Chalok Ban Kao. The walk through the most beautiful tropical garden of Koh Tao is definitely worth the effort though. Sunset beach is a private beach surrounded by coconut trees and limestone boulders. Like the name of the resort says; the sun sets right in front of your bungalow. The bungalows are traditional Thai style huts, built right on the rocks above the sea, providing you with a stunning view over the Gulf of Thailand. Sunset Beach is also a great snorkeling area where you will find many colorful corals and lots of tropical fish.

If you are looking for a peaceful scenery with simple accommodation, Sunset Bungalow’s backpacker style huts might just be the right spot for your stay on Koh Tao. The Orchid Cliff Bungalows are built right into the hillside above Sunset Beach. Orchid Cliff offers a few midrange backpacker style bungalows, with a fantastic view over the Gulf of Thailand. Orchid Cliff is away from the road and it is about a ten minutes walk from Chalok Ban Kao Beach. On the other side is to Sunset beach, where you can be in less than 5 minutes.
